Teacher / school
Become a part of a nationwide organization, with a 40-year history and numerous experiences both at home and on an international level. Our environmental education programmes last the whole year and are enriched with new activities on monthly basis. These activities include exercises to nurture creativity, artistic, communicational and presentational skill, as well as project-oriented and systematic thinking.

Treeling – environmental magazine for nifty pre-schoolers and creative teachers prepared by experts in environmental education. Treeling, a good forest spirit who takes care of animals and plants in the Adventure Forest will accompany you throughout the magazine. The magazine contains a story from the Adventure Forest, a quiz, … Within the membership, the Head of the ToL Club has an electronic version of the magazine at their disposal.
During the year we organise 8 recurring competitions for members. In addition to material prizes, we also send an illustrated diploma to skilled children. We announce the competitions on our website stromzivota.sk, while also publishing the announcement on Facebook and in the news from the grove.
Do you want to use your walk outside for meaningful learning through experience? Download prepared ideas for activities and develop the child’s specific competencies. We expand our database of activities every month.
Get involved and share your experiences
During the year we meet with the Heads of ToL Clubs at information seminars, where we present Tree of Life news. At the same time, we will be pleased if you also share your experiences with Tree of Life projects and competitions or write to us about additional activities that you carry out within your Club. Send your article for publication including photographs to enviro@stromzivota.sk and we will take care of the rest. If you like our offer, set up a Tree of Life Club at your registered school.

Community blog – on-line monthly for members and Tree of Life friends, which children from all over Slovakia contribute to. In addition to the topic of the month you will find regular columns in the magazine: evolutionary triumph in flora and fauna, fashion, ecomotorist, European states, puzzles, a poster, and the favourite video series Vedecké okienko with Dominika Morávková or the video series Geológia v K❒CKE.
Competition for teams - in autumn and spring we announce the Environmental Triathlon. The competition consists of nine tasks with different levels of difficulty. In addition to knowledge tasks, it also contains practical activities focusing on active citizenship, volunteering and personal development and tasks supporting creativity and the development of artistic, communication and presentation skills.
Talent competitions – for members aged 8 to 15 years we organize two correspondence talent competitions:
The ENVI-Talent biology competition consists of six theoretical rounds, which take place from September to February and one practical round where students examine different aspects of nature. The best solvers meet at a nationwide meeting in May.
TRIZ-Talent focuses on the development of technical skills and innovation in technology, physics, and chemistry. It consists of six theoretical and practical rounds, while the members' individual inventions compete for the Cool Invention of The Year award.
Ideas for project-oriented teaching called Bioprofile of the village or city – you have 34 projects divided into seven topics to solve at your disposal. An attractive handbook is prepared for each project, which will guide you through the given issue and help with field monitoring.
Ideas for activities – are you tired of spending your evenings looking for various sources and ideas to compose the next class where you implement environmental education? Our materials are here for you. All you need to do is choose from our extensive database. Alternatively, you can subscribe to news from the grove - monthly newsletter, in which we summarise all the important things.

Forming a positive relationship with nature in children is a matter of everyday attitude of parents and teachers. Tree of Life supports families in the effort to raise children towards empathy, responsibility, and a natural interest in the environment that they live in.
Only for 3,25€ a month you can gain access to materials crafted by experts and get inspired by ideas on how to actively spend your free time or how to build a connection with nature. Research, discover, learn, but mostly, play together as a family.
Family ToL Club membership includes:
- thematic original Slovak materials from which children and adults will learn a lot of interesting information about our nature,
- easy instructions and guides for children on how to improve the environment that they live in,
- competitive activities for children focused on learning about nature and environmental behaviour,
- development materials focused on developing the child’s specific skills or talents,
- digital magazines for children.
Online materials are at your disposal nonstop. You do not have to buy them individually; a click is enough. Whether you use a walk in the nature to “vybehanie?” or getting to know it as well, or if you need to meaningfully entertain your children at home, you will find inspiration in the Tree of Life. We prepare materials for both kindergarteners and compulsory school children.
The family membership lasts for 12 months after payment of the yearly fee of 39€ (regardless of the number of children in the family). The membership fee can be paid in two instalments. Would you like to try work that has meaning and real impact? Would you like to be part of an inspiring community that cares about quality of life and the environment? Are you interested in gaining experience, professional help, and participating in international programmes and residencies? In Tree of Life, you can work as a volunteer or an ambassador, while also realising The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.

As one of the oldest environmental organisations in Slovakia, The Tree of Life offers highschoolers and university students an opportunity to self-realise through volunteer work.
Editor
Do you enjoy writing and want to develop your talent? As a member of the Strom magazine editorial board, you will be tasked with writing articles related to the topic of the month, searching for and editing images for magazine articles, or translating articles from foreign sources.
Graphic designer / Illustrator
Are you creative and do you want your graphic creations to be used in schools across all of Slovakia? As a member of the creative team, you will be tasked with creating graphic elements for presentations, posters, teaching tools, methodological sheets and school websites.

AMBASSADOR POSITIONS WE OFFER
Lecturer
Do you like to spread awareness about protecting the environment? You can test your skills with us. Your task will be to give lectures and workshops on environmental education directly at schools within your chosen region. This will help you gain professional experience and important skills for future employment.
Assistant Lecturer
Are you 15 to 17 years old and considering studying environmental disciplines? You can gain your first experience as an assistant lecturer in environmental education. You will provide support to the lecturer, and you can gradually become the main lecturer.
Methodologist
Are you a student of pedagogy who is interested in designing inspiring educational materials? Your task will be to create content for lectures and workshops in collaboration with Tree of Life methodologists. The materials will be prepared not only according to the topic, but also according to the grades of primary and secondary schools.

You will have the opportunity to work with the team of one of the oldest environmental organisations in Slovakia and you will meet young people from all over the country with the same interests as you. In addition, if you are interested in carrying out your bachelor's or master's thesis with us, we will provide you with a consultant and help you prepare the practical part.
